NBPA partners with INFLCR to provide NIL education for collegiate athletes

The National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) has announced a partnership with INFLCR, the leading brand building and NIL business management software platform for elite athletes, to provide resources to educate collegiate student-athletes on monetising their name, image, and likeness (NIL) while highlighting compliance regulations set forth by the NCAA.

As part of the partnership, the NBPA will integrate INFLCR’s educational content into its newly developed NIL microsite. The goal of this platform is to serve as a resource for collegiate athletes to learn more about NIL rules and the keys to maximising their platforms as elite athletes. The content will feature important information about NIL rules and regulations from INFLCR’s NIL experts as well as tips and stories from various amateur and professional athletes about personal branding, endorsements and business advisors.

“The game for student-athletes has completely changed with the new rules around NIL, and we wanted to ensure that all of these athletes, and especially our future members, have access to educational resources that will help in their decision-making process,” said Que Gaskins, interim President of THINK450, the innovation and partnership engine of the NBPA. “Working with INFLCR, a proven industry leader in the space, we can now connect elite student-athletes with informative content and help them make the most of these new opportunities.”

“Our mission at INFLCR in a few words is to empower athletes. Our objective in partnering with the NBPA is a natural fulfilment of that mission,” said Jim Cavale, INFLCR founder. “To provide education that speaks directly to a student-athlete’s future and assist all athletes in the process of building their personal brand and their NIL business is what INFLCR is all about.”

The NBPA is the union for current professional basketball players in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Established in 1954, the NBPA’s mission is to protect and support the rights and talents of players, magnify the power of their collective will, and amplify their voices as leaders who will transcend sport and society globally.

The NBPA advocates on behalf of the best interests of all NBA players, including through the negotiation of collective bargaining agreements, the filing of grievances on behalf of the players, and counselling players on benefits, educational and post-NBA career opportunities. Business opportunities are generated by THINK450, the subsidiary of the NBPA charged with managing the players’ group licensing rights.
